Ashwani Kumar Chrungoo, president, PK on an invitation of the organizers to represent Hindu-Sikh minorities of J&K State left for Chicago to attend the Congress. First World Hindu Congress was held in New Delhi in November 2014. At the concluding session of that Congress on November 23, 2014, the US representatives offered to host the Second World Hindu Congress in the US. Four US cities – Los Angeles, Houston, New York and Chicago — were considered, but the Chicago Chapter’s claim to host it weighed high because, Chicago was the city where Swami Vivekananda delivered his historic speech of “Brothers and Sisters” at the World Parliament of Religions on September 11, 1893. Hence, the International Committee of the World Hindu Congress approved that Second World Hindu Congress will be held in Chicago on September 7, 8, and 9, 2018.
World Hindu Congress (WHC) is a global platform for Hindus to connect, share ideas and inspire one another. It offers Hindus a chance to think towards improvement to seek clear solutions to the most critical issues of our age. All Hindu organizations, associations, and institutions are encouraged to participate and invited to become partners in World Hindu Congress. WHC also serves as a platform to address critical issues impacting Hindus worldwide, including human rights, discrimination, and cultural assaults.
