NEW DELHI, May 23: Red chilli and turmeric prices rose up to Rs 200 per quintal in the national capital today on the back of increased buying by retailers and stockists amid low stocks.
Besides, fall in supplies from producing belts and firming trend in futures market supported the upside.
Red chilli and turmeric prices rose up to Rs 200 to conclude at Rs 8,000-15,700 and Rs 8,600-13,000 per quintal, respectively.
Traders said buying support from retailers and stockists against fall in supplies from producing belts, pushed up chilli and turmeric prices.
Following are today’s quotations (in Rs):
Ajwain (per kg) 155-190, black pepper (per kg) 610-790, betel-nut (kg) 300-350, cardamom brown-Jhundiwali (kg) 1,730-1,760 and cardamom brown-Kanchicut (kg) 1,950-2,060.
Cardamom small (kg): Chitridar 810-870, cardamom (colour robin) 810-830, cardamom bold 820-840, cardamom extra (bold) 950-1,000 and cloves 740-860. (PTI)
