Chief Minister, others greet people on Shab-e-Qadr

SRINAGAR, July 1: Chief Minister, Mehbooba Mufti has felicitated people on the auspicious occasion of Shab-e-Qadr, also known as Lylat-ul-Qadr, the holy night when people congregate to pray to Almighty Allah seeking His forgiveness.
Highlighting the importance of Shab-e-Qadr, the Chief Minister, in her message, stated that the holy night in which Almighty Allah revealed the Glorious Qu’ran to Prophet Muhammad (SAW) for the guidance of mankind, gives us an opportunity to seek His mercy and blessings.
Ms Mehbooba Mufti prayed for betterment of the people and hoped that the holy night would bring Allah’s generosity to all. She also prayed that the auspicious occasion would strengthen the bonds of communal harmony and brotherhood and be a harbinger of peace and prosperity in the State.
The Chief Minister directed the divisional administrations to ensure that all facilities are provided to the people especially on account of transportation, water supply and electricity during the night of prayers. She also asked the management of J&K Wakaf Board to provide required facilities at Asar-e-Sharief Hazratbal, and other Khanqahs and Masjids, which are thronged by devotees in large numbers for the night-long prayers at these shrines.
The Deputy Chief Minister, Dr Nirmal Singh today extended greetings to the people of Jammu and Kashmir on the auspicious occasion of Shab-e-Qadr.
In his message, the Dy Chief Minister stated that the occasion will strengthen the bonds of communal harmony and brotherhood, and become a harbinger of peace and prosperity in the State.
Dr Singh also prayed for betterment of the people and hoped that the holy night would bring everlasting peace to Jammu and Kashmir.
Meanwhile, Jammu and Kashmir National Conference President Dr Farooq Abdullah and Working President Omar Abdullah have greeted the people on auspicious occasion of  Shab-e-Qadr.
In a message, Dr Farooq Abdullah said that this holy night provides us an opportunity to pray for Almighty’s blessings and strive for being compassionate, pious and dutiful.
“It is the unique and holy night when Almighty Allah chose to reveal the holy Qu’ran to Prophet Muhammad (SAW) for the guidance of the mankind,” Mr Omar Abdullah said in a separate message, adding that the occasion provides opportunity to us to spend the night in praying and seeking forgiveness and blessings from Allah.”
Dr Farooq Abdullah and Mr Omar Abdullah wished prosperity and peace to the State and prayed for well-being and welfare of the people.
