JAMMU, Apr 13: Akhil Bharatiya Vidyarthi Parishad (ABVP), Jammu Mahanagar unit, today announced that it will organise a “Chhatra Hunkar Mahanagar Sammelan” on April 22, 2026, aimed at raising key issues concerning students across colleges.
Addressing a press conference, Mahanagar Mantri Raman Khajuria said the Sammelan seeks to consolidate the collective voice of students and highlight pressing academic and institutional concerns. He pointed out several challenges being faced by students, including incomplete syllabus coverage, mounting examination pressure, inadequate infrastructure, shortage of teaching staff, and lack of basic facilities in educational institutions.
He further stressed the need to address issues related to delays in scholarship disbursement, rising fee structures, and the demand for a fair, transparent, and student-friendly examination system.
During the press briefing, ABVP also introduced its “Scanner Initiative,” an innovative mechanism through which QR code-based posters have been installed at various locations. The initiative enables students to digitally submit their grievances, ensuring greater accessibility, transparency, and quicker redressal.
ABVP called upon students to participate in large numbers in the Sammelan and actively engage in constructive dialogue for addressing their concerns.
The press conference was also attended by Joint Secretaries Keertan Singh and Sonika Sen, along with other student representatives.
