JAMMU, Aug 9: The entire Channi Himmat area plunged into darkness after the power failure in the area from 3pm today.
According to president of the Channi Himmat Residents Welfare Association, Adv. V K Grover the power supply was suddenly off at 3 pm today and later on it was not resumed up to late in the night. He said though he tried to approach the authorities on phone but no officer responded to his call neither any official was ready to say what was the cause of power failure as people were put to many hardships as they had to remain without electricity for over seven hours in this hot and humid temperature.
Grover while criticizing the PDD said the callousness of the departmental authorities was the main cause of the problem which mostly surfaced after laying the new lines.
He said last time also there was double phase in the area due to which the electric gadgets of the residents were damaged.
