Change in alignment of flyover at Parimpora demanded

SRINAGAR, Apr 16: The inhabitants of Parimpora Srinagar have demanded changing of alignment of flyover being constructed in the area.
In a letter to Union Road Transport and Highways Minister, Nitin Gadkari through Mir Ghulam Rasool chairman and D N Sadhu secretary of People’s Revolutionary Society they said flyover is currently being constructed on the National Highway at Parimpora–Shalteng, Srinagar (Jammu & Kashmir). This project is indeed a welcome and progressive step taken by the Central Government for the development of the region and for easing traffic congestion.
However, it is important to mention that at the time of the earlier construction of the National Highway, land was already acquired from our side, while land other side was not taken.
Now, during the present construction of the flyover, the concerned road authorities are again acquiring land from the same side. This is causing serious hardship and injustice to the affected people, as we are being repeatedly burdened.
Furthermore, the construction of walls for the flyover is adding to difficulties of the residents and shopkeepers, as it is adversely impacting their properties and livelihoods.
In view of this, it is requested to kindly intervene in the matter and ensure fair and just treatment for all affected parties. A balanced approach in land acquisition will greatly help in reducing the suffering of the people.
