Challan filed against father for killing son, attacking wife, daughter

SAMBA, Aug 4: Samba, Police has filed challan in the court of law for judicial determination against one person who murdered his 20-year-old son, and attempted to murder his wife and daughter at Dhaki, Sumb in the jurisdiction of Police Station (PS) Samba on April 12 this year.
Samba police registered a murder and attempt to murder case FIR No. 78/2023 U/S 302/307 IPC at Police Station Samba on the directives of SSP, Benam Tosh through Police Post (PP) Goran and arrested the accused identified as Kulbir Singh, son of Jaswant Singh of Dhaki Sumb, Samba and started investigation. Scene of crime was visited by a police team comprising of DySP, Garu Ram, SHO Police Station, Samba, Rajeshwar Singh and incharge PP Goran, PSI Sajid Jaral, police said.
The investigation of the case was monitored by Additional SP, Samba, Surinder Choudhary, police added.
During the investigation police proved that early in the morning of April 12 this year accused Kulbir Singh attacked his 20-year-old son, Jeetan Singh while he was sleeping with his siblings, his wife, Poonam and his 16-year-old daughter with a sharp-edged weapon of offence (‘Darat’), thereby killing his son and grievously injuring his wife, daughter. Police has also added section 226 in the case and thus concluded the case by filling challan U/S 302/307/326 IPC and presented the same in the court of law for judicial determination.
Senior Superintendent of Police, Samba, Benam Tosh said that Samba Police is exhibiting high degree of professionalism while conducting investigations in murder cases in the district and police is leaving no lacunae in the investigations which are being concluded in time-bound manner without inordinate delays.
