JAMMU, July 28: J&K Grameen Bank today launched its own Micro-ATM Terminals for the usage of its esteemed customers.
The Micro-ATM Terminal was launched by Chairman Janak Raj Angural in presence of newly appointed Chairman Sudhir Gupta at Bank’s Head Office Narwal. Bank’s first Micro-ATM Device was provided to one of the Business Correspondents of the bank.
Chairman said that the platform will enable Business Correspondents to conduct instant transactions. The micro platform will enable function through low cost devices (micro ATMs) that will be connected to banks across the UT of J&K. This would enable a person to instantly deposit or withdraw funds regardless of the bank associated with a particular BC. This device would be made available at every BC.
“Customers would just have to get their identity authenticated and withdraw or put money into their bank accounts. This money will come from the cash drawer of the BC. Essentially, BCs will act as bank for the customers and all they need to do is verify the authenticity of customer using customers’ UID. The basic transaction types, to be supported by micro ATM, are Deposit, Withdrawal, Fund transfer and Balance enquiry”, he added.
Sudhir Gupta said that launch of Bank’s Micro ATM Terminals shall absolutely boost the morale of Bank’s customers, as they shall be provided to the Business Correspondents of the Bank, who shall deliver the basic Banking Services to the remotest villages of the UT.
Davinder Bali, General Manager JKGB emphasized that through the usage of Micro-ATMs, the business of the bank shall definitely rise.
DD Gupta, Chief AI&V, Jyotsna Garib, Incharge Digital and Alternate Channels, Navjot Singh, Rahul Pandit, Anuradha Bhat, Shamsher Singh, HoD Financial Inclusion and Insurance Department were also present on the occasion.
