KATHUA, Mar 3: Former Member Parliament and chairman Dogra Swabhimaan Sangthan, Ch Lal Singh will contest as DSS candidate from his traditional Kathua-Udhampur-Doda Lok Sabha Constituency in the forthcoming elections.
Dogra Swabhimaan Sangthan in its crucial meeting held at Kathua today, unanimously resolved to field Ch Lal Singh as its Lok Sabha candidate from Kathua- Udhampur-Doda seat. The members held threadbare discussion regarding the forthcoming Parliamentary elections. The meeting was attended by Sarpanches, Panches and elected Councillors of the district in which all the members unanimously resolved to contest both the seats of Parliament falling in Jammu province and also to contest the elections of MLCs, both of Panchayats and Local Bodies.
While speaking on the occasion, Dr Hari Dutt Shishu, general secretary clarified that the resolution adopted by the Kathua unit of DSS shall be placed before the Central Working Committee of DSS shortly which is competent to take final call on the selection of candidates.
Ch Lal Singh while addressing the gathering expressed shock on the change of recent policy of Excise department in which they made a scope to open more wine shops in Jammu province. He warned the authorities of any such move in the State.
He said Dogra Swabhimaan Sangathan demands an enquiry to see the persons behind this decision. All those trying to play with the life of the youth of society by allowing more wine shops shall be exposed. The possibility of the involvement of the members of the dissolved Assembly cannot be ruled out in this scam, remarked Lal Singh.
He further appealed to the audience to gear up for the forthcoming elections and ensure the victory of DSS. He appealed to the people to support DSS candidates in forthcoming elections because only this is the party which is committed to free Jammu from the clutches of Kashmiri dominance and honour and development of Jammu province. He said DSS will always fight for the cause of the Jammu region and its people will definitely give the chance to the new ideas.
Lal Singh said that the people of Jammu are suffering just because of the Kashmiri dominance in Delhi and J&K state. There is no one ready to listen to the nationalists voices and because of the different political interest the people of the Jammu especially border areas are suffering a lot.
