CFCL starts 1st Urea Rake Plant in Jammu

JAMMU, Jan 28: First Urea Rake of Gadepan 3 Plant of Chambal Fertilizers and Chemicals Ltd (CFCL) today arrived here at Railhead.
A handout stated that Gadepan 3 Urea Plant is the largest Urea Plant in India with annual manufacturing capacity of 15 lakh MT Urea and set up at a cost of Rs 6000 crore by KK Birla promoted CFCL.
Gadepan 3 plant is situated in Kota, Rajasthan and after commissioning of this plant Gadepan has become the largest Fertilizer manufacturing complex in Asia with annual manufacturing capacity of 35 lakh MT Urea or two lakh bags daily.
The handout claimed that India has become more self-reliant in Urea after set up of this plant and this would reduce Indian dependency on imports.
Chambal is the largest supplier of Fertilizers in J&K with market share of more than 30 per cent.
With the advent of this plant farmers of J&K would get fertilizers easily and it would help in improving agricultural and horticulture productivity here.
A function was organized on this occasion where Chief Agriculture Officer Jammu, N.K Mishra was chief guest while officers from Directorate of Agriculture, Pradeep Sharma, Santosh Bhat, Surendrapal and others were also present.
Regional Manager CFCL, Manish Jain and Assistant Manager, Kanwarjeet Singh were also present.
