JAMMU, Jan 28: Col (Dr) Hakam Singh, son of the soil who belongs to Doda district of Jammu region, was awarded with Vishisht Seva Medal (VSM) by President of India, Ram Nath Kovind, on the occasion of 70th Republic Day in New Delhi.
The prestigious medal was conferred to the Col Hakam Singh for his distinguished service in 92 Base Hospital. Col Singh son of late Kiker Singh, resident of Poneja-Chiralla, district Doda, has done his MBBS from Government Medical College, Jammu and Post Graduation from Armed Forces Medical College (AFMC). Presenting he is serving in Army Medical Corps as Senior Advisor Surgery.
Col Singh is also recipient of many prestigious awards like COAS commendation (2013), Force Commander MONUSCO-Congo commendation (2015), DG SSB commendation (2017), DG CRPF medal (2018) and DG JKP Medal (2018), etc.
