J&K bags 2nd best tableau prize

NEW DELHI, Jan 28: The Tableau from Jammu and Kashmir depicting the composite culture of the State at the Republic Day Parade in New Delhi has won the 2nd prize.
Defence Minister, Nirmala Sitharaman presented the awards to the winning teams at an event here today.
The State prize was received by Secretary JKAACL, Dr. Aziz Hajini along with Veer Munshi Tableau designer and Nazeer Ladakhi Troupe leader/ Deputy Secretary Culture in presence of artists from across India.
Several other dignitaries from other States were also present on the occasion. Apart from the other States of the Union of India, several Central Ministries and departments had also presented their Tableaux depicting the Philosophy of the Father of the Nation.
Meanwhile, Governor Satya Pal Malik felicitated the Tableau artists of J&K State for winning 2nd best Tableau Prize in Republic Day Parade, 2019.
The Governor who in the National capital while addressing the artists, and designers of the Tableau said that J&K is a blend of diversity in terms of its cultural heritage.
He also appreciated the design of the Tableau which was fabricated and designed by Veer Munshi under the theme “Gandhi Ji’s Ray of Hope – our composite culture” Showcasing Him alongwith Charkha and ethnic diversity.
The Governor announced a cash reward of Rs one lakh to participants of the Tableau.
Principal Resident Commissioner Dheeraj Gupta, Secretary JKAACL Dr. Aziz Hajini, Additional Resident Commissioner, Yasha Moudgal and other senior officers were present on the occasion.
