JAMMU, Apr 30: A spokesman of the Jammu and Kashmir Energy Development Agency (JAKEDA) today said that achievement about the implementation of Rooftop Solar Scheme for Jammu city is commensurate to the availability of Central Financial Assistance (CFA).
“Ever since the sanction of the scheme, financial assistance has not been received from the Ministry of New and Renewable Energy and communications have been sent to the concerned officers in the Ministry in this regard”, he said, adding “had timely Central Financial Assistance been made available much progress would have been made in the installation of grid-tied rooftop solar plants on the residential buildings of Jammu city”.
He further said that even in the absence of Central Financial Assistance around 15 Mega Watts of solar power is being generated by installation of plants on around 1700 residential buildings. “We have initiated a number of measures to generate awareness among the people about the scheme”, he added.
“The sharing of the funds is in the form of 40% from Central Financial Assistance, 25% from the Union Territory Government and 35% from the beneficiary”, he informed.
