Centre takes stock of Kashmir situation at high-level meeting

NEW DELHI : The Centre today took stock of the situation in Kashmir valley at a high-level meeting as the death toll mounted to 23 in the violence that followed the gunning down of militant Burhan Wani on Friday evening.
According to sources, the meeting was chaired by Home Minister Rajnath Singh and attended by Home Secretary and chiefs of intelligence agencies.
The meeting reviewed the situation prevailing in the valley and discussed the strategy to bring the violence under control.
Meanwhile, the situation in the valley was said to be tense but under control with no untoward incident being reported. (AGENCIES)
