SRINAGAR: The National Conference today said the Centre has finally realised its past mistake of calling off bilateral-level talks with Pakistan on the issue of Kashmiri separatist leaders meeting with Pakistan High Commissioner in New Delhi last year.
NC leader Omar Abdullah was reacting to a written reply in Parliament by Minister of State for External Affairs V K Singh that ”there is no bar on the meetings of Kashmiri separatist leaders with representatives of any country in India.”
Talking to reporters on the sidelines of a local function at old town in the Habba Kadal constituency, the former chief minister said the Central Government had now realised its mistake of calling off talks with Pakistan on the issue of separatist leaders meeting the Pakistan High Commissioner last year.
”We had reiterated that calling off talks with Pak was a mistake,’, he said, adding thanks that the Centre has now realised its mistake and took the decision not to repeat it in future. (AGENCIES)
