Centre exempts locals of tax at Ban Toll Plaza

JAMMU, Sept 10: The Union Government has exempted the people living within 20 kilometers radius of Ban Toll Plaza of Toll Tax on Jammu-Udhampur road. Besides the people from Jammu district and Katra tehsil have to pay Rs 220 per month as Toll Tax for plying their vehicles on the road at Ban Toll Plaza.
A decision to this effect was taken by the Union Road Transport Ministry on the intervention of BJP State president and MP Jammu -Poonch Lok Sabha Constituency Jugal Kishore Sharma who took up the issue with the Ministry on the persistent demand of the locals.
The demand for the exemption of tax at the Ban Toll Plaza was raised by the locals of Nagrota and other adjoining areas before the MP.
Mr Sharma in a statement issued here today said with this decision thousands of people will be benefited.
