Centre delegates powers to Ladakh LG

JAMMU, Sept 27: The President of India has empowered the Lieutenant Governor of Ladakh Union Territory to exercise the powers and functions vested with State Governments under two Central Laws within the Union Territory.
The Union Home Ministry today issued two separate notifications to empower the LG to exercise the powers vested with State Governments under The Commissions for Protection of Child Rights Act and “The Street Vendors (Protection of Livelihood and Regulation of Street Vending) Act.
