JAMMU : The Centre has cut its financial assistance given to J&K under JNNURM after the State failed to achieve its urban reform targets, the state government said in the Legislative Council today.
An amount of Rs 46.94 crore, which is 10 per cent of the overall committed Additional Central Assistance (ACA), has been deducted, Urban Development Minister Nawang Rigzin Jora said in reply to a question by NC member Vijay Bakaya.
Jora said certain conditions need to be fulfilled for release of ACA under Jawharlal Nehru National Urban Renewal Mission (JNNURM) by the Union Ministry of Urban Development.
These include achievement of urban reforms as per the memorandum of Agreement, submissions of utilisation certificates and independent review and monitoring agency (IRMA) and Third Party Inspection Reports, he informed.
“All conditions except Urban Reforms have been fulfilled,” he said adding that Government has already taken initiatives towards urban reforms. (AGENCIES)
