Centre approved rail project for Poonch: MP

POONCH, Feb 11: Member Parliament (MP) Jammu Poonch Constituency, Madan Lal Sharma said that Centre has approved project connecting border district of Poonch with railway network of the country.
While addressing awareness camps organized at Balakote and Salwan in Mendhar regarding implementation of Centrally sponsored schemes including MGNREGA, IAY, PMGSY and Total Sanitation, MP said Centre has framed various welfare schemes for speedy development of rural areas especially the border regions of the country. He impressed upon executing agencies to strictly adhere to the guidelines prescribed for execution of such schemes.
Mr Sharma said that Centre has decided that all the development projects taken in hand under BADP will be framed and executed with concurrence of respective Sarpanchs. Moreover, funds for such works would be released to Panchayats directly hence forth.
Commenting on execution of MGNREGA the BDOs were directed to chalk out various development projects to provide jobs to unskilled labour force.
Responding to local demands at Salwah, MP directed Engineers of PWD, PHE and BDO Mendhar to start construction work on Examination Hall Block in Government High School Salwah besides providing computers laboratory, black topping of 2 kms link road leading from Sakhi Maidan to Salwah, construction of 1 Km road linking upper Kasbalari, a play ground at Salwah comprising five kanal land and construction of bore well to provide drinking water at Salwah.
Vice Chairman OBC Kuldeep Raj Verma projected various welfare schemes launched for upliftment of OBC section of the people besides scholarships are being provided to children belonging OBC category.
