Srinagar, Mar 16: Scores of workers affiliated with Central Silk Board Workers Union today staged a protest demonstration in Pampore area of South Kashmir seeking implementation of Temporary Status Scheme 1993.
The agitating workers resented the “arbitrary condition” imposed by the concerned Ministry for the implementation of the Scheme and said they have been asked to withdraw all court cases which they have already done.
“We were assured that the Scheme would be implemented within 15 days but nothing has been done in this regard and ultimately we were forced to take the path of protest,” said the workers.
Threatening indefinite strike, the Silk Board workers urged the concerned authorities to implement the scheme so that the workers are benefited accordingly.
