LEH/KARGIL, Jan 27: Like other parts of the country, the Republic Day was also celebrated with great enthusiasm across Ladakh region.
LEH: Chief Executive Councilor Dr Sonam Dawa Lonpo unfurled the Tricolor and took salute at march past presented by parade contingents of police, paramilitary forces and school children at Polo Ground here.
Addressing the gathering, Dr Dawa paid rich tributes to the soldiers and police personal who sacrificed their lives for the nation.
Tableaux by Information Department & Cultural Academy Leh, Health, Rural Development Departments and Municipal Committee Leh showcasing the rich cultural heritage of Ladakh and Government schemes like MGNREGA and Swacch Bharat Abhiyan was the major highlight of Republic Day celebration.
Reports about celebration of Republic Day were also received from all the Sub Divisions of the Leh district.
KARGIL: Chief Executive Councilor Kacho Ahmad Ali Khan unfurled the National Flag at Khree Sultan Chow Sports Stadium and took salute at an impressive march past comprising contingents of Jammu and Kashmir Police, NCC, civil and police band besides a number of contingents of government and private educational institutions.
Addressing the gathering, Kacho Ahmad Ali Khan recalled the contribution of the architects of the Constitution and supreme sacrifices of the national heroes who laid down their lives for the freedom and well-being of the country. He also praised the services of the army, paramilitary forces and police in guarding the frontiers of the country in harsh weather conditions and for maintaining the internal security.
Republic Day was also celebrated in all the Sub Divisions of Kargil district.
