LEH, Apr 10:  To review health services and preparedness of PHC Tangtse in combating COVID-19 pandemic, a meeting was held under the chairmanship of Chairman/Chief Executive Councillor, LAHDC, Leh Gyal P. Wangyal in the presence of  EC Education Konchok Stanzin and Councillor Tangtse Tashi Yakzee at SDM Conference Hall  Tangtse, here today.
The meeting was attended by BMO Tangtse Dr Norboo Angchuk, Tehsildar Tangtse Abdul Rahim Ashur, Naib Tehsildar Mohd Ali and  Sarpanches of Durbuk, Shashukul and Tangtse.
BMO Tangtse briefed CEC about the measures being taken by the doctors and paramedical staff in Durbuk region to combat COVID-19 and said that as per the requirements Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) will be procured from Leh.
CEC Wangyal and EC Konchok also took stock of the availability and supply of essential commodities in Durbuk Sub Division especially in far-off villages and assured that Council will give top priority to ensure availability of essential supplies in far-off villages.
Meanwhile, CEC and EC also reviewed the future plans of Rural Development Department, Agriculture and Sheep Husbandry departments in implementing developmental activities in the region after situation gets normal.
Later, while inspecting with wards of PHC Tangtse including quarantine and isolated wards meant for COVID-19 patients if needed, CEC appreciated the preparedness of PHC Tangtse headed by BMO Dr Norboo and appealed people of Tangtse area to remain vigilant to fight COVID-19.
EC Konchok and Councillor Tangtse Tashi Yakzee also appealed the people of Tangtse sub division to follow lockdown measures and social distancing which will play a major role in containing the COVID-19.
