LEH, May 16: Chairman/CEC Tashi Gyalson in presence of MP Ladakh Jamyang Tsering Namgyal and Tsamtrul Rinpoche inaugurated new office building of Ladakh Maxi Cab Operator Cooperative Limited/Tempo Union Leh at Bombgarh, here today.
After inaugurating the new office of the Tempo Union Leh, the CEC visited various sites of Ladakh Transport Co-operative Society Limited which includes Taxi Union opposite LDA Park, Taxi Stand Old Bus Stand, Shakshalieu Maneytselding, New Bus Stand and Truck Terminal Agling to inspect on-ground situation.
Representatives from the Transport Cooperative Societies apprised the Chairman and the concerned officials of the issues faced by the local unions like development and renovation of Truck Terminal Yard (LTCS), non-functioning of bathrooms, etc.
Responding to the issues, Tashi Gyalson that he will definitely revisit all the grievances and assured his assistance in addressing all the genuine demands and development requirements of the Ladakh Transport Co-operative Society. At Last CEC Gyalson visited to Sheynam Community Hall to attend ALTAs programme as a part of Diamond Jubilee Celebration of Ladakh Scout.
The spoke about the on-going developmental work in UT Ladakh which includes beautification projects, management of traffic, developing required infrastructure etc. He stresses on the importance of executing agencies and people to jointly explore the possibilities and actual alignments of the roads so that there could be more visibility and possibilities in terms of feasibility.
Speaking on the occasion, Jamyang Tsering Namgyal stressed on the importance of online transportation services and encouraged the locals to explore online transport marketplace. He also spoke about the role of transport in generation of economy.
The CEC was accompanied by Councilors; DC/CEO LAHDC Leh; ADC Leh; Commandant LSRC; Director Sainik Welfare Department-cum-Secretary Rajaya Sainik Board Ladakh; Zila Sainik Welfare Officer; Superintending Engineer, PWD Leh; Assistant Regional Transport Officer, Leh; Executive Engineer, PHE Leh; Executive Engineer R&B Leh; Executive Engineer, Construction Leh; Executive Engineer, PDD Leh; Executive Officer, MC Leh and Inspector Traffic.
Representative from different Transport Associations were also present on the occasion.
