CCI seeks extension in dates of IT returns

JAMMU, Sept 10: A delegation of Chamber of Commerce & Industry Jammu called on A K Thatai, Commissioner of Income Tax Jammu in his office chamber and presented him a memorandum requesting for the extension in the dates for payment of Advance Tax and filing of Audited Income Tax Returns.
The delegation, comprising of Sham Lal Langer, Arun Gupta and Rahul Mahajan,
apprised the Commissioner Income Tax about the present situation arisen due to flash floods in the State because of  which the entire business activities have come to a standstill and it is impossible for the assesses to deposit the Advance Tax as well as file the Audited Income Tax Returns in the present circumstances.
The Commissioner assured the delegation that he would take up the matter with the Chief Commissioner of Income Tax, Chandigarh who is likely to give positive response for extending the dates.
