CBI presents challan against TDM BSNL

JAMMU, July 6: CBI/ACB Jammu presented challan against K B Sharma, then TDM BSNL Udhampur (presently Director Telecom Engineering Center New-Delhi) and Mukul Saxena, Proprietor of M/s Sai Telematics Ghaziabad in a case of purchasing portable linemen testers at exorbitant rates.
According to the challan, in year 2010 accused KB Sharma, then TDM and others arranged quotations of portable lineman testers from three suppliers with the intention of purchase at exorbitant rates. Accordingly, they placed the orders of eight portable linemen testers to Sain Telemetics, Ghaziabad at a cost of Rs 24,900 per piece. However, investigations conducted by the CBI revealed that original cost of the testers was just Rs 1700 per piece.
After completion of the investigation, CBI presented challan in the court of Special Judge Anticorruption Jammu (CBI) against K B Sharma, then TDM BSNL Udhampur and Mukul Saxena, Prop of M/s Sain Telemetric Ghaziabad
