CBI Arrests Police Head Constable For Accepting Bribe In Kathua

JAMMU, Mar 18: The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) on Saturday arrested a head constable posted at Women Police Station Kathua red handed while taking Rs 3,000 bribe from a complainant, an official said.
“The arrested head constable has been identified Mushtaq Ahmed presently posted at Women’s Police Station in Kathua. A complaint was lodged with CBI Jammu and Kashmir wing alleging therein that accused demanded Rs 5,000 for a favour in a case registered at Women’s Police station Kathua, said officials quoting the complainant. It was further stated that the amount was negotiated at Rs 3,000,” an officer said.
Following the compliant, a case was registered in this regard, the official said, adding, “a trap was laid and the accused was caught red handed while demanding and accepting a bribe of Rs 3,000,” the official added.
They added that the accused was arrested on the spot with bribe money and will be produced in court for further action.
