AKHNOOR, Aug 2: The Crime Branch team from Jammu today raided the office of Block Development Officer (BDO) Akhnoor and seized record pertaining to some alleged `fraudulent drawls’ in some cases where actual works have not been initiated on ground.
Reports said that a team of Crime Branch led by DySP on the directions of SSP Crime, Jammu arrived at BDO office Akhnoor at around 1.30 pm today and started search of the record. BDO, Ranjeet Singh Tara was not in the office. The team seized record pertaining to the complaint with regard to fraudulent drawls by some VLWs and other staff.
Director, Rural Development Department, Jammu R K Bhat and ACD, Jammu Tasir Latiffi when contacted expressed ignorance over the matter. However, SSP Crime Jammu, Ramesh Jalla confirmed the Crime Branch action and maintained that his office had received a complaint in this connection from an official from the same department.
Based on the complaint, the record has been seized. The team of experts in the department is scrutinizing the record. It will be followed by further action against the officials concerned if found guilty, the SSP said.
