JAMMU, Aug 2: Promising young wicketkeeper batsman, Kanahaiya Wadhawan of Jammu got the nod of the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) selectors for National Cricket Academy (NCA) Camp for Under-16 cricketers to be held at Bangalore from August 21, 2017.
He along with medium fast bowling all-rounder, Mujtaba Yousuf have been selected on the basis of their performances in the Inter-Zonal matches involving four zones of East, West, North and South.
Representing North Zone, Kanahaiya scored 160 runs, with a healthy average, having 60 as his highest score against East zone, besides remaining unbeaten twice on 30 and 25 runs. He also dismissed 11 batsmen with his exceptional glove work behind the stumps.
Talented Mujtaba scalped 7 wickets and also scored some useful runs in the Inter-Zonal matches lower down the order.
It is pertinent to mention here that Kanahaiya is the trainee of J&K State Sports Council Coach, Randhir Singh Manhas (Rajan).
