KATHUA, Mar 7: The Crime Branch (CB) which is investigating the Rassana minor girl kidnapping and murder case today questioned some cops of Hiranagar police station.
According to reliable sources, one Sub Inspector and a Havaldar of PS Hiranagar were summoned by the CB today for questioning as the initial investigation in the murder case was made by the Hiranagar Police Station which is fully abreast with the case.
Sources said CB may summon some more cops of the PS Hiranagar for questioning to ascertain facts about the case.
When contacted a senior police officer, however, said that the case falls under the jurisdiction of Hiranagar police station and initial investigation was made by the said Police Station. Hence they have to cooperate with the CB in further investigation to unravel the facts about the kidnapping and murder of the minor Gujjar girl whose dead body was found in Rassana forests on January 17.
It may be recalled that people of Hiranagar are demanding thorough investigation in the case through CBI and they took to streets and also launched agitation in support of their demand.
The local people are also concerned about the heinous crime which, they said, has shaken them and the matter should be thoroughly probed and guilty punished under law.
The Hindu Ekta Manch (HEM) led by advocate Vijay Sharma has accused the CB of harassing the innocent people on the name of investigation and warned to intensify the agitation.
