CB books Kangra Fort Prop

JAMMU, Mar 22: Crime Branch (CB) Jammu has registered a case against the proprietor of Kangra Fort, Kamal Nain Singh, son of Khayali Ram of Palampur, Himachal Pradesh and presently at Barnai near here for preparing a fake and fabricated state subject certificate through fraudulent means to acquire huge properties in the State.
According to an official spokesman of the Crime Branch, on the directives of Ld. Forest Magistrate, Jammu before whom a complaint was filed by one Gayatri Devi Jamwal, wife of Karanjeet Singh Jamwal of 3 Suramgarh, Barnai, Jammu against Kamal Nain Singh that he is a non state subject and has produced fake certificate, the CB Jammu initiated the inquiry under Section 202 CrPC. During the course of inquiry it was found that Kamal Nain Singh was originally resident of Palampur, Himachal Pradesh where he is having his ancestral property and his mother Mrs Bimla Devi is still residing there and looking after the shop under the name and style Kamal Sweet Shop, the spokesman added.
Crime Branch during its inquiry also came to know that Kamal Nain Singh never constructed a house or lived in Chenani in district Udhampur as claimed by him. However entries were made in the Khasra Girdawri register in the year 1994 in his name by Revenue authorities illegally. On the basis of which he managed and procured permanent resident certificate fraudulently and in connivance with the revenue officials from district Udhampur and subsequently acquired huge properties in the State.
The spokesman further said that the report of enquiry under Section 202 CrPC was filed before Ld Forest Magistrate, Jammu who issued fresh directives to register a formal case in this regard.
The spokesman said that by going through the case it has been ascertained that Mr Singh with malafide intensions and in connivance with officials of Revenue Department got prepared the fake state subject certificate.
The CB had registered the case FIR No 06/2014 under Section 420,465, 467, 468, 471, 120 B RPC read/with Section 5 (2) PC Act Svt 2006 against Singh.
