DODA, Sept 23: Casual workers held protest here and took out march towards Kashmir in support of their demands.
Amid slogans against the Government, the protestors under the banner of Akhil Bhartiya Safai Mazdoor Sangh District Doda assembled at district headquarters here and held protest. Later, they marched towards Kashmir.
Police cops also tried to persuade the protestors, but they remained adamant and continued their march.
They raised slogans in support of their demands including regularization and release of pending wages.
The protest was led by Kifayat Ahmed, who while speaking criticized the higher authorities for their failure to regularize all casual workers and release of pending wages of the poor and helpless workers.
The protestors informed that they are marching towards Kashmir to get their demands redressed. They reached Khellani by foot when last reports were compiled.
The protestors have appealed to the Lieutenant Governor of Union Territory of Jammu and Kashmir Manoj Sinha to redress the issues of casual workers in the shortest possible time.
