Case registered against persons raising pro-azadi slogans

KISHTWAR, June 27: Police registered a case against around one dozen persons for raising pro-azadi slogans during processions taken out yesterday on the eve of Eid-ul-Fitr.
As per sources, Kishtwar police prepared a report of around 10 persons indulged in raising pro-azadi slogans during processions taken out yesterday on the eve of Eid-ul-Fitr.
There is possible involvement of Government employees in raising pro-azadi slogans, which is being probed, sources added.
The report of the persons raising pro-azadi slogans has been prepared on the basis of the video clips examined by the police, sources said, adding that the report was submitted to District Magistrate (DM) Kishtwar for appropriate action against the persons indulged in raising pro-azadi slogans.
When contacted, SSP Sandeep Wazir told the Excelsior that DM accorded sanction to register FIR in the incident.
A case under FIR Number 116/17 under Sections 120-B and 153-A RPC has been registered and hunt has been launched to arrest the persons, he added.
However, no arrest was made till last reports were compiled.
