Caredose launches mobile app to help patients adhere to medication

NEW DELHI, July 16: Medical technology startup Caredose Tuesday said it has launched a mobile application which would help patients adhere to their medication.

Caredose CEO Gauri Angrish said the company is addressing the issues of medicine non-adherence which are critical to the health and well-being of chronic patients.

She said that the main aim is to help patients so that they take their medicines regularly and on time without gap.

The app will have all the information about the patient like the name of the medicine and dosage.

“It will send reminders to patients about the dosage and timing of consuming a medicine. It would also record response from patients whether they are taking their dose or not,” she said.

Gauri added that soon the company would be launching the second version of the app which will include more features.

“In the second version, we will link care givers or family members also who are involved with the patient. So care giver will also get reminders if patient misses his/her medication,” she added.

To avail this service, the care giver can either download the app or can get sms services.

“This feature would mainly help care givers living away from the patients. Through the app, they can order medicine, and also manage payments,” she said, adding that there is no charge or fees for downloading the app.

Currently, the company is managing over 6,000 patients in the Delhi NCR region.

“Soon, we will expand the footprint to new cities including Hyderabad,” she said.

She further added that there are more than 1.2 billion non-adherent patients globally. (PTI)
