NEW DELHI, May 28: Extending losses for the second straight day, cardamom prices fell 0.66 per cent to Rs 838.30 per kg in futures market today as speculators pared positions, tracking a weak trend at spot market on subdued demand.
Besides, adequate stock position in the physical market on higher supplies from producing belts kept up pressure.
In futures trading at the Multi Commodity Exchange, cardamom for delivery in June fell Rs 5.60, or 0.66 per cent, to Rs 838.30 per kg in a business turnover of 86 lots.
Likewise, the spice for delivery in July contracts traded lower by Rs 2, or 0.25 per cent, to Rs 806.50 per kg in 13 lots.
Analysts said offloading of positions by speculators due to sluggish demand in the spot market mainly kept cardamom prices lower in futures trade. (PTI)
