Cardamom futures extend losses, down 1.84% on ample stocks

NEW DELHI, Oct 28:  Cardamom prices fell further by 1.84 per cent to Rs 839.60 per kg in futures trade today as speculators reduced their positions amid ample stocks position on increased arrivals from producing belts.
Besides, sluggish demand in the spot market further fuelled the downtrend.
At the Multi Commodity Exchange, cardamom for delivery in November fell further by Rs 15.70, or 1.84 per cent to Rs 839.60 per kg in business turnover of 181 lots.
Similarly, the spice for delivery in December declined by Rs 8.20, or 0.97 per cent to Rs 840 per kg in 63 lots.
Market analysts said offloading of positions by speculators on the back of ample stocks position in spot markets on increased arrivals from producing belts, mainly kept pressure on cardamom prices. *(PTI)
