Cardamom futures extend gains, up 0.62%

NEW DELHI, June 10:  Continuing its rising streak for the third day in a row, cardamom prices advanced 0.62 per cent to Rs 827.20 per kg in futures trade today as speculators enlarged positions on the back of rising demand in the spot market.
Besides, tight stock position in the physical market on limited supplies from producing regions supported the upside.
At Multi Commodity Exchange, cardamom for delivery in July was up by Rs 5.10, or 0.62 per cent, to Rs 827.20 per kg in a business turnover of 120 lots.
Similarly, the spice for delivery in June contracts edged up by 10 paise, or 0.01 per cent, to Rs 794 per kg in 2 lots.
Analysts said restricted supplies from producing regions mainly kept cardamom prices higher. (PTI)
