Cardamom declines on subdued demand

NEW DELHI, May 24: Prices of cardamom fell up to Rs 20 per kg in the national capital today owing to sluggish demand from retailers and stockists amid adequate stocks, marketmen said.
Cardamom small varieties such as chitridar, colour robin, bold and extra bold prices fell up to Rs 20 to conclude at Rs 700-750, Rs 680-740, Rs 720-750 and Rs 900-950 per kg, respectively.
Following were today’s quotations per quintal:
Ajwain 13,500-18,500, black pepper (per kg) 760-960, betel-nut (kg) 180-200, cardamom brown-Jhundiwali (kg) 1,350-1,450 and cardamom brown-Kanchicut (kg) 1,500-1,650.
Cardamom small (kg): Chitridar 700-750, cardamom (colour robin) 680-740, cardamom bold 720-750, cardamom extra (bold) 900-950 and cloves (kg) 920-1,025. (PTI)
