SRINAGAR, Aug 12: In order to streamline the functioning of CAPD, the Government is introducing several measures including bringing under the Government ambit 4500 fair price commission based dealers and regularizing their services after completion of 5 years.
This was stated by the Minister for CAPD, Choudhary Mohammad Ramzan while speaking on a function organized by the fair price dealers here today.
The Minister said that an amount of Rs. 70 crore has already been earmarked as a budgetary provision for providing the remuneration to these FP dealers and subsequently after completion of 5 years they would be regularized.
Choudhary Ramzan also maintained that in order to modernize the department and streamline the Public Distribution System in the state the necessary computerization would also be undertaken, so that the consumers would easily get their ration quota besides, this would also help in updating the records of the department.
The Minister also said that a smart card would also be provided to the consumers, which would be unique to the person, so that the genuine persons would get their rations. He also informed that the State Government has already taken up the matter of including the new un-covered consumers with the centre on the basis of census of 2011 in order to increase the allocation of food grains to the state, so that the ration can be provided to the maximum populace.
Ch. Ramzan said that an additional 7500 new sale outlets would be opened for the general convenience of the people especially those living in rural and far-flung areas of the state.
Secretary, CA&PD, Baseer Ahmed Khan, Director CA&PD, Bilal Ahmed Bhat and other senior officers were present on the occasion.
