Candle march organized to pay homage to Galwan martyrs

JAMMU, June 26: A candle march was organized today at Ward Number 73, Karan Bagh Gadigarh, Jammu to pay homage to the brave Indian soldiers who laid down their lives at Ladakh’s Galwan Valley.
The candle march was originated from Gurudwara Sahib Basti Gadigarh and culminated at Karan Bagh. It was organized under the leadership of Prof (Dr) Youdhvir Singh, Councillor of the Ward. The march was carried out in three line formation by a large number of social activists from various walks of life holding burning candles in their hands. The program was attended by about 300 people.
The program was steered by the youth of the area with full zeal and dedication under the guidance of Rasbir Singh and Omkar Singh. During the candle march, people raised slogans in favour of Indian Army and the 20 martyerd soldiers who laid their lives to safeguard of National boundaries at Galwan Valley.
While addressing the gathering at Karan Bagh, Prof (Dr) Youdhvir Singh said that Indian soldiers stood like pillars and did not budged even they were less in numbers and were also unarmed due to certain reasons. Lack of political will on the part of Union Government was also denounced by the Councillor, who accused the Government for lost of 20 precious lives of Indian soldiers.
Mohinder Singh (chief organizer, Bhai Kanya Nishkam Sewa Society J&K), Ravinder Singh (Sarpanch), Surjeet Singh (former general secretary DGPC Jammu), Raja Singh (Sarpanch & Member DGPC Jammu), Ghajan Singh (president, J&K Motor Transport Company Association) and many others participated in the march.
