JAMMU, June 26: A day-long meet of Cancer Survivors Group called ‘Kark Vijayan’ was organized today by LBN Radiations of Hope (a cancer care foundation) in association with Maharishi Dayanand Hospital and Medical Research Centre at Maharishi Dayanand Hospital, here at Rehari Chungi.
The event was supported by Nephrocare Dialysis Centre, Centre for Eyesight, Transasia Labs, Bhartiya Yog Sansthan, Arya Samaj, Purani Mandi and Anjuman-E-Imamia, where cancer survivors celebrated health with harmony.
The meet started with a positive note with Yoga Session in the morning, where Yoga instructors guided the Cancer survivors how they can overcome side effects of various medicines taken by them during treatment of Cancer, by doing various postures of Yoga.
The experts delivered motivational lectures to the participants and distributed cancer awareness as well as Yoga literature among them.
On the occasion, specially designed oncoprivilege discount cards were also distributed among the Cancer patients as well as survivors by TransAsia Laboratories, which provides upto 35% discount to card holders on all types of tests.
Later, after Yoga session, a small refreshment was distributed to the participants by J&K Dharmarth Trust.
While speaking on the occasion, Dr Deepak Abrol, Cancer Specialist, said that the ‘Kark Vijayan’, J&K’s 1st Cancer Survivors Group has been formed so that the survivors can get a platform to share their experiences with new patients. He said that new patients can get inspiration to win their war against cancer and learn how to cope up with the disease by talking with survivors.
The day-long event concluded in the evening with Roza Iftaar organized by Anjuman-E-Imamia for the cancer survivors as well as patients. On the occasion, Ajuman-E-Imamia and Jammu Muslim Front offered their full support to organizers in any such future endeavour for the benefits of patients.
Meanwhile, the management of Centre for Eyesight announced free Eye OPD for Cancer patients for life time at its Rehari Chungi centre.
