JAMMU, Jan 9: A two-day “cancer detection & screening camp” concluded today at Community Health Centre (CHC) Marh.
The screening tests were done by VIA (Visual Inspection by Acetic Acid) method. A total of 45 women including Anaganwari workers as well as common masses were screened for cervical, breast and oral cancer during the camp during which ASHA Workers, AWWs and common masses were made aware.
The training were imparted to field doctors, FMPHW’s by a team of doctors comprising Dr Samita Bhat, Dr Shashi Bala, Dr Atula and Dr Nerupama (Gynaecologists) whereas screening of oral cancer was done by Dr Preeti and Dr Rupali along with supporting staff.
The camp was supported as well as coordinated by Dr Sameer Koul (Divisonal Nodal Officer, NCD Cell, Directorate of Health Services Jammu).
Speaking on the occasion, Dr ML Rana (Block Medical Officer, Marh) hoped that similar camps will be organized on weekly basis in the Block.
