Campaign launched for separate statehood to Jammu

Excelsior Correspondent JAMMU, July 5: In an effort to know the pulse of the people on separate statehood to Jammu, Shiv Sena with the support of various political, social and religious organizations including intellectuals and social workers jointly launched a “Janmat Campaign” at statue of the last ruler of the princely state of Jammu and Kashmir, Maharaja Hari Singh, here today. While addressing the gathering on the occasion, Shiv Sena J&K unit president, Manish Sahni said that in the prevailing circumstances, restoration of democracy and statehood does not matter for Jammu. “Efforts are being made to mislead us in the name of statehood and restoring the democracy process. Even after the delimitation, nothing special is going to happen in the favour of Jammu division,” Sahni said. Sahni said that to preserve our identity, culture and bright future, we should unite for separate statehood to Jammu. He informed that a target has been set to take this campaign to one million people across Jammu region through social media and door-to-door campaigning in order to reach out to the people in every nook and corner. Swami Gangadhar Ji Maharaj (Holy Dwarka Shastri Samadhi), Mahamandleshwar Rameshwar Dass Ji Maharaj (Purani Mandi Mandir), Swami Rajeshwaranand Ji Maharaj (Jai Deva Mission), Sahil Ji Maharaj (Bal Sant), Col SS Pathania (Sainik Samaj Party), Ankur Sharma (IKkJUTT, Jammu) and many other social organisations were part of this campaign.
