BZA organizes convention

KATHUA, Aug 19: One day Convention of Billawar Zila Andolan was organized in tehsil Billawar, in which around two thousand people from different villages took part.
Addressing the gathering, convener of the BZA, Chand Jalmeria expressed anguish over the continuous neglect by the Government of the demand for creation of Billawar district. He said that six tehsils of district Kathua–Billawar, Ramkot, Macchedi, Bani, Basohli and Mahanpur are the worst sufferers due to the present district headquarters at Kathua.
Jalmeria further added that the hilly belt has been badly neglected in almost all fields of development. The condition of road connectivity is so bad that Dyalachak to Chhallan road which is the life line of the area is single and in shambles. The Billawar to Katli Malhar; Billawar to Sukrala Macchedi Badnota, Mandli to Kohag Lahri, Bani to Dhaggar, Bani to Lohang, Thara Kalwal to Aglidhar roads are also in dilapidated condition, he added.
During the convention, it was resolved that a Massive Rally in support of the demand for creation of Billawar District will be organized by the end of this year.
The convention was presided over by Sarpanchs Chuni Lal Mistri and Krishan Chand Sharma. The convention was also addreesed by Punnu Ram Jamodia, Krishan Gopal Upadhiaya, Vinod Raeothia, Amar Nath, Rasal Singh, Ravinder Singh.
