SRINAGAR, June 22: The Department of Food, Civil Supplies and Consumer Affairs( FCS&CA) today sealed a mutton shop in Baramulla market in North Kashmir for selling mutton at exorbitant rates.
On the directions of the Deputy Commissioner, Bhupinder Kumar, action was initiated against the butcher after a customer complained that the butcher was charging 600 rupees per kilogram of meat.
Assistant Director CA&PD Baramulla, Sheikh Tariq, said that the shop of the erring butcher was immediately sealed. He added strict action will be taken against violators.
Pertinently, the administration has fixed the retail price of mutton at 535 rupees per kilogram without offal and 490 rupees with it.
