Burglary case worked out, one arrested with stolen items

JAMMU, June 23: Gandhi Nagar police under ‘Operation Meghdoot’ worked out a theft case with the arrest of a burglar and recovery of stolen items.
As per police spokesman, on June 21 this year, a complaint was lodged by Vijay Kumar, son of Dwarka Nath of Gandhi Nagar stating that on June 19, some unknown person entered into his godown and decamped with LEDs and cooper pipe sets.
Acting over the complaint, a case under FIR Number 110/17 was registered at police station Gandhi Nagar and investigation started.
During the course of investigation, several suspects were rounded up and one of them identified as Satnam alias Shotu, son of Daleep Singh of Valmiki Colony Gandhi Nagar confessed to have committed the theft.
On his disclosure, 3 stolen LEDs worth Rs 1,50,000 were recovered.
Further questioning of the accused is going on to ascertain his involvement in other theft cases.
Police team led by SHO Gandhi Nagar Inspector Ritesh Samyal and assisted by PSI Vicky Thapa made the arrest under the supervision of SDPO City South Mohammad Rafiq Manhas and SP Headquarters Jammu RC Kotwal.
