Burglars’ gang busted, stolen goods recovered

SRINAGAR, Apr 26: Police today said a burglars’ gang was busted and stolen goods worth lakhs of rupees were recovered in central Kashmir’s Budgam district.
A police spokesman said many burglary complaints were reported in Magam and Khag area of Budgam.
“On this an investigation team was constituted under the supervision of SSP Budgam. The investigation team succeeded in arresting nine burglars identified as Mansoor Ahmad Wani, Aafaq Ahmad Dar, Aslam Sofi, Nazir Ahmad Bhat, Ali Mohammad Bhat, Umar Rashid Bhat, Mashooq Rather, Sakleen Mushtaq, Mehraj-ud-Din Rather and Muzaffar Khan,” he said.
The spokesman said their arrest led to the recovery of stolen items including motorcycles, cigarettes, tyres, shawls, blankets, readymade garments worth Rs. 8, 38,000 approximately. “With these arrests and recovery nine burglary cases registered at Police Station Magam and Khag were solved,” he added.
