NDS organizes Declamation Contest in memory of Shiv Rattan Anand

JAMMU, Apr 26: Nami Dogri Sanstha, Jammu, organized a Declamation Contest amongst the students of 9th to onwards classes of various schools and colleges at SNS Vidya Mandir, Camp Road, Talab Tillo, Jammu.
Reward to the tune of Rs 1500/-, Rs 1000/- and Rs 800/ besides trophies and books were given away in the memory of Late Shiv Rattan Anand.

Darshan Lal, Joint Director, Sarv Shiksha Abhiyan was the chief guest while B S Salathia, Ex-president, Bar Association Jammu and Advocate D S Chouhan were the guests of honour.
Journalist R C Sharma and Ajay Sharma, Additional Advocate General, were the special guest while Neelam Sabharwal, Principal, SNS Vidya Mandir, presided over the function.
On the occasion, floral tributes were paid to Shiv Rattan Anand by S S Anand Lehar, Patron-in-Chief, Nami Dogri Sanstha and other dignitaries. Dr Rama Kant Dubey, Advisor, SNS Vidya Mandir was also present on the occasion.
Anand Lehar said that Shiv Rattan Anand was a youth leader from border district of Poonch. An alumnus of Aligarh Muslim University and an MA LL.B, he led an important social movement in 1947. In the prime age of 24 he left for heavenly abode.
First prize was won by Adhiveer Sharma of Delhi Public School, Jammu, second prize by Ayush Sharma of Dewan Badri Nath Purani Mandi, Jammu and third prize was shared by Gurpreet Kour of Co-operative Public School, Talab Tillo and Tushali Sharma of SNS Vidya Mandir, Talab Tillo, Jammu. Consolation prize was given to Vamika Anand, a 5th Class student of Delhi Public School, Jammu.
Judges of Declamation Contest were Advocate Nidhi Kaila, Advocate Monika Sumbria, Advocate Meenakshi Salathia and Rohini Anand Abrol.
Sukhdeep Kour and Yash Pal ‘Yash’ compered the programme while Capt Lalit Sharma presented the vote of thanks.
