KATHUA, Jan 17: Burglar struck at a residential house in busy Patel Nagar area here, today and decamped with 500 grams of Gold and 100 grams of silver ornaments. The matter came into light when the owner of house, Dr Kiran Thakur who is posted at Billawar returned to her home today. She found that the lock of main door was broken with electric cutter , CCTV was damaged and remaining locks of house were also damaged.
The steel Almirah of main room was also broken and thieves decamped with Gold and Silver ornaments. The thieves executed the theft in very smart and high tech manner.
The burglars did not touch other items of house except the Gold and Silver ornaments valuing more than 30 lakhs.
The family is in shock since the theft took place in high populated area of Patel Nagar. Even the neighbors did not know about the theft case. The local people said that the regular theft cases are taking place in Patel Nagar area and police was very well informed about it. Few days, earlier Patel Nagar residents Prem Nath Dogra also handed over thief to Kathua Police who was stealing the pipe from Patel Nagar during night hours.
The residents are scared and demanded stern action against the thieves active in their area. A team of Kathua police reached on the spot and recorded the evidence at crime scene.
