LEH, June 18: Ladakh Buddhist Association today said that 41st Sakya Trizin Rinpoche is arriving Leh on June 25.
Addressing a press conference, the representatives of the LBA highlighted the activities to be carried out by the spiritual leader. From June 28 to July 1, there will be teaching of Rigsum Chewang at Jive-tsal, Shey. On July 4, Sakya Rinpoche will inaugurate the Ngonpar Gawey Phodang at Matho and deliver initiation of Nampar Nangzat Ki Wang the next day at 9:30 am at Matho.
Tsewang Thinles, President of LBA said that the main purpose of organising such religious sermons is to uphold the unity among the four major religious sects of Buddhism in Ladakh and make it exemplary in the entire world. Besides, he said, it becomes important to bring understanding and awareness among the Buddhist community to preserve Ladakhi culture, tradition, language and religion through such sermons.
Jamgyang Gyaltson informed about the teachings to be delivered by the Rinpoche and Secretary, Ladakh Gonpa Association, Konchok Tashi briefed about the importance of Rinpche’s visit and teachings in Ladakh.
According to LBA president, as desired by Rinpoche a special interaction session will be held on July 16 at 2:30 pm with the youth of Ladakh in Leh.
The Rinpoche is also scheduled to visit Nubra and Skitmang areas depending upon the helicopter service provided by State Government because his health doesn’t permit road travel.
