BSP protests, demands 27 % quota for OBCs

JAMMU, Feb 15: The activists of Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP) today held protest demonstration near Press Club Jammu against the alleged anti-reservation policies of the Central Government.

The BSP workers led by J&K Unit president of the party, SR Majotra assembled at Press Club near main Tawi Bridge here today and started protest demonstration. Carrying placards in hands, they were raising slogans against the BJP and the J&K UT Administration. They alleged that the SCs and OBCs were being deprieved of their right by the NDA Government.
Majotra and several other leaders of the party also addressed the gathering and criticized the present regime for ignoring the legitimate rights of the reserved categories. They strongly opposed the rationlisation in reservation done by the J&K Administrative Council on January 30, 2020 and alleged that it has been done without adhering to the standard constitutional provisions. They strongly demanded 27 % reservation for the OBCs in J&K.
They alleged that OBCs have been denied rights in J&K since 1993 and the time has come to provide them justice. They strongly supported the reservation in promotions and resolved to wage struggler for it.
Senior leaders Charanjeet Chargotra, Kuldip Chalotra, Jagdish verma, R K Chalotra Som Nath Ex-MLA B B Kundal and others also spoke on the occasion.
